BYOR (bring your own rug) Trimming and Carving Class
Class Requirement:
You must bring a rug you have made in a previous Tuft Stuff class. Other rugs will be considered. Please email info@tuftstuff.com for consideration.
About the Class:
This is a 3.5 hour rug rug trimming and carving class where students will have the opportunity to learn and experience, hands-on, the art of rug carving and trimming.
- Doors Open @ 5:45 PM
- Class Begins promptly @ 6:00 PM
- Anyone arriving after we have started may not be granted entry and will need to reschedule or cancel (Please see our Rescheduling, Cancellations & Refunds Policy below)
During this class, Tufters will:
- Arrive with a pre-made rug of their choice
- Receive an overview of using electric trimmers and knife-edge shears for precision rug trimming and carving to create a professionally finished appearance and high-quality depth
- Receive one-on-one and global feedback with hands-on help
- Will leave with more knowledge of the rug-making process and a high-end looking rug!
Preparing for the Session:
- Please prepare to arrive 15 minutes before the beginning of class. We begin class and instruction at the time listed on your ticket. Anyone arriving once we've started may not be granted entry and will be required to reschedule (additional fees apply) or forfeit the ticket cost.
What do I need to fill out?
Please fill out the information for yourself or the main point person including name, email and phone in case we need to communicate anything.
You must then fill then out the rest of the info for your guests OR transfer their tickets after checkout so that they can fill in their own information. Please make sure they have completed this so that they can receive important information!
Do you have an age limit?
We prefer a "maturity minimum" and leave it to parents to make the decision for their child. A ticket must be purchased for everyone over the age of 12. Parents must also take into consideration the machines may get a bit heavy for younger/smaller people and there are lots of sharp objects like exposed tacks on the tufting frames and the machine itself is a high-powered tool with a needle and sharp scissors at the end. It is also required there be a parent or guardian present for each person 12 and under and at least one per two children 13-17. That said, quite a few kids as young as 10 have worked on a project themselves and even younger worked successfully with their adult of choice!
